In the aftermath of their diesel emissions scandal, the iconic brand fell out of faith with many consumers. Now, they’re trying to fix it.
It starts with a promise to be carbon neutral by 2050. Until then, the brand is trying to rebuild trust by reimagining their famous Lemon ads — and trying to turn their lemon of a mistake into lemonade. Even more, they’re launching an electric version of their classic VW Bus in 2020.
Volkswagen owned up to their mistakes and are attempting to be more transparent and purposeful in the future, which are key ingredients for a Believable Brand. They’ve made the commitment to Drive Bigger — let’s see if they live up to it.
